… and I thought, “statuesque.”

Paris is full of sculpture, and it emerges in the strangest places. As an American, we have to import our really old sculptures, while Europe is chock-a-block with sculptures, paintings, and museums. (If you don’t believe me, check out this map.) However, I was really impressed with the quality of some of the artwork that was on the streets, a phenomenon that also struck a chord with me in Madrid.

Whether it was on the street, in a church, or in a park, the quality of sculpture was amazing, and was often erected by the members of the community, not necessarily the city of Paris. What do you think?
