There are several parks surrounding my apartment, and one behind my flat has a playground in the middle. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the orange trees that are planted along the streets here. As I noted in an earlier post, the non-edible oranges throughout the city are an integral reminder of the unique heritage of this city. The oranges are in full production right now outside of the city, but the trees in the city are covered in vibrant fruit, splashing color along the sidewalks.
Of course, oranges can also be a hazard, and teams of maintenance workers periodically “harvest” the trees to prevent any accidents. In some of the sunnier spots of the city, this can be quite a chore! On the other hand, when the orange blossoms bloom, walking under these trees is a little bit of heaven.
You’re a wonderful writer and I always enjoy anything you post! I love the orange tree photos-I’ve never thought of them as being planted throughout neighborhoods, but what a big treat that would be.
Thanks for the compliment, Carolyn, and I appreciate your review of the blog! It’s always good to get feedback! Oranges are everywhere right now, even though it is pretty chilly at night.
Hi Christopher,
The pictures are beautiful and I like the black and white photo with the oranges still in color. I see you are enjoying your camera. I know I enjoy my camera and the different features. How nice to have orange trees all around the city. You should not be lacking in vitamin C. Take care and talk to you again soon.
Glad you like them… I think my camera was definitely one of my better investments!
